Registration

We are excited to welcome families to Holladay Preschool! Our registration process is designed to be fair and consistent while recognizing families with an ongoing or recent connection to our preschool and Holladay United Church of Christ (HUCC).

Registration Dates

  • Registration for the 2027-2028 school year opens November 30, 2026.

  • Applications must be submitted by January 8, 2027 to be considered in the initial placement process.

  • Current preschool families will receive an application through Brightwheel. New families may apply through our website.

Placement Offers and Fees

  • Families will receive a placement offer through Brightwheel at the end of January.

  • A $125 non-refundable registration fee is due when the offer is accepted.

  • A tuition deposit equal to May tuition for the enrolled school year is due by May 1, 2027. It will be credited toward May 2028 tuition and becomes non-refundable after May 31.

Enrollment Priority

Applications received by the January 8 deadline are considered in this order:

  1. Current HUCC Members: Families with a parent, grandparent, or guardian on the active HUCC membership roll as of December 31, 2026.

  2. Current Holladay Preschool Families: Families with a child currently enrolled at Holladay Preschool.

  3. Recent Former Families: Families whose child attended Holladay Preschool within the five school years immediately preceding the school year for which they are applying.

Families receive their highest qualifying priority regardless of which application they complete. Board service, volunteer service, and employment at the preschool or HUCC do not independently create enrollment priority.

Class Selection

  • Families list three class choices in order of preference. A family willing to accept only one class may list it more than once.

  • Priority determines the order of placement. Within each priority group, a random lottery sets the order. Placement in a first-choice class or with requested classmates cannot be guaranteed.

  • Children entering the toddler program must turn two by June 1 of the enrollment year. Age requirements for other classes are Children entering the 3-year-old program must be three years old by September 1 of the enrollment year.  Children entering the 4-year-old program must be four years old by September 1 of the enrollment year.

  • We make reasonable efforts to offer siblings age-appropriate openings, and twins or multiples who request it are considered for placement together. These accommodations do not override higher priorities.

Open Enrollment and Lottery

  • After in-house applicants have been considered, remaining openings are offered through open enrollment.

  • On-time applications from new families are considered first, using a random lottery if applications exceed openings. Applications received after January 8 follow, in order of priority category, then order received.

Placement Offers and Waiting Lists

  • Families have three business days to accept or decline a placement offer.

  • Families who accept a second- or third-choice class are automatically placed on the waiting list for their higher-ranked choices.

  • Families not initially offered a spot remain on the waiting list through the first day of school unless they ask to be removed.

  • Openings are offered by priority category, then lottery order.

Questions or Concerns

If you believe the policy was applied incorrectly, you may submit a written request for review to the Preschool Board within 10 days of receiving your placement offer.
